I was heading, with daughter, to Chicago for the weekend and just before walking out the door I got a call from the editor
of Downtown Edition, a weekly. I had sent out batches of drawing samples & it happened she needed a cover as she opened
her mail. So I planned it in Chicago and drew it up for deadline monday & so began a relationship where I did art reviews,
wrote monthly features and ran cartoons weekly for that year. I also drove a school bus, did all the childcare, cooking, shopping
laundry etc; while C. worked her bunns off to finish that degree.

I did fairly regular drawings for Seeds from the time the editor, Tom Peterson,
and I met until it folded. It was a Christian progressive publication. I read of a survey
that asked Christians what they thought the most important issues were of our time.
The fundamentalists clergy thought gay marriage & abortion most urgent (opposing both
of course) while more mainstream and progressive clergy saw war, environment and
poverty/justice as most pressing.
